Ian Toplis – Director

Ian’s professional skills have been developed over 30 years in the General Insurance industry. He has worked in various roles, including State Underwriter, with insurance companies such as AMP, Lumley and Commercial Union (now CGU) prior to bringing his wealth of experience to the field of Insurance Broking in 2002. Ian sees his forte as providing a high level of quality service to his clients and he welcomes every opportunity to apply his depth of knowledge and experience in all classes of General Insurance to meeting the needs of his clients.

Justin Price – Director

Justin has been working within the General Insurance Industry for over 15 years, having entered the industry after completing two years full time in business studies. He has gained considerable experience addressing the insurance needs of Industry groups such as builders, financial advisors, accountants and car dealers. This provided insights into client needs, across a range of corporate and small business clients. Justin’s focus is now on maintaining and further developing good relationships with existing customers of Direct Insurance Brokers and expanding our services to the Small Medium Enterprise market. Justin has particular interest in working with franchise groups and clients with specialist insurance needs.

Matthew Dawson – Director

Matthew has been with Direct Insurance Brokers for over 7 years. As a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB) he handles a comprehensive portfolio of commercial clients and specialises in the SME market, providing both business and domestic insurance advice. Matthew has used his industry experience, qualifications, and client focus, to successfully attract business throughout Australia. His passion for the industry and client service is only matched by his commitment to continuous personal development.

Steve Dawson

Steve started in the insurance industry at age 15 with Guardian Assurance, which, through mergers, became GRE Insurance Ltd. After 23 years with GRE, the last 9 years in a managerial position, he decided he needed a challenge. Steve then joined Direct Insurance Brokers in 1991, and has been here ever since. Steve continues to expand his base of clients by applying his depth of experience to meeting their insurance needs – and backs it with top service.
